Detailed itinerary
- DAY1
Arrival: Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania. Your Wildecho Exped driver will be waiting at the airport with a sign bearing your name and will take you to your hotel in Arusha to relax. In the evening, your guide gives you a short briefing about the whole safari.
Overnight: Hotel in ArushaLunch, dinner & breakfast - DAY2
Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, the safari begins with the drive to Tarangire, home to large elephant herds and giant baobab trees. You will also see lions, buffalo, zebras and warthogs searching for water. A great day for photography.
Overnight: Hotel in KaratuDinner & breakfast - DAY3
Karatu to Lake Natron
Today we go where many visitors never reach: Lake Natron. The drive is beautiful, passing Maasai villages and dramatic landscapes. On arrival you will see the lake's red and pink waters with the great Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano behind. Lake Natron is the breeding ground of the lesser flamingo and a truly unique place for photos.
Overnight: Lodge or camp near Lake NatronDinner & breakfast - DAY4
Lake Natron to the Serengeti via Klein's Gate
Instead of returning to Karatu, we drive straight from Lake Natron into the Serengeti through Klein's Gate, the shortest route. As you enter the park, look out for the wildebeest and zebra herds. Where the migration is depends on the season: from about July to October the herds cross the Mara River in the far north.
Overnight: Tented lodge in SerengetiDinner & breakfast - DAY5
Full day in Central Serengeti
A full day in the Serengeti. Your guide knows where lions, leopards and cheetahs like to rest. See the full circle of life in the wild: hunting, animal families and countless birds. For many of our guests, this is the best day of the whole safari.
Overnight: Tented lodge in SerengetiLunch, dinner & breakfast - DAY6
Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the crater, a huge natural amphitheatre of wildlife. In one day you can see black rhinos, lions (including magnificent black-maned males), hippos, flamingos and many antelope species. Every corner brings something new.
Overnight: Hotel in KaratuDinner & breakfast - DAY7
Lake Manyara to Arusha
In the morning, visit Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions, something rare anywhere in the world. You will also see elephants near the lake, hippos, monkeys and many birds, including flamingos. Drive back to Arusha in the afternoon to relax.
Overnight: Hotel in ArushaDinner & breakfast - DAY8
